Molten Glaze For Your Lips: Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Gloss in Glisten Up Pink.

Summers are the time when I want a light weight coat of colour on my lips, not something that sits heavy and certainly not something that’s ikky-sticky or that will melt in the heat.  If you feel the same way about lipsticks and glosses in summer, then this product is for you….Maybelline’s newest gloss, Color Sensational High Shine Gloss which surprisingly is non-sticky!

Here’s what Maybelline has to say about the Colorsensational High Shine Lip Glosses:
Lavish lips with a molten hot glaze
  • More Vibrant Color from pure liquid pigments
  • Cleaner Shine from our 100% wax-free gloss
  • Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar
  • Now gloss goes gutsy in 8 arresting shades

But the molten glaze on the lips comes later…what captures the attention first is the sleek, clean and very chic packaging. It is a thick plastic tube (almost looks like a glass tube) with a shiny silver cap and, when you rip open the plastic wrapping, absolutely no branding on the tube. It is really very minimalistically stylish.

The applicator is flat, unlike the normal doe foot applicators and is slanted to allow precise and controlled application of the gloss.

The colour I have, Gisten Up Pink, is a light, shimmery pink which would look fabulous on light to medium skin tones. The texture is lovely coz though it is thick, it is not sticky at all! The pigmentation too, is quite good and despite being a light colour, it gives complete coverage on pigmented lips in two coats. In the picture, I’ve worn just one coat on bare lips (no lip liner or lipstick underneath it) and you can see how pigmented and super shiny it is.

However, it is not non-transferable and it will come off a bit on glasses and cups but then which gloss doesn’t? In me, it lasted for a good four hours and through a glass of cold coffee. After that, the shine and colour fade considerably, and being a light colour, it didnt leave behind a stain.

Priced at Rs. 350 for 5ml, shiny, glossy, non-sticky, in a chic, minimalist packaging, what more could a girl want in a gloss? Oh and there are 8 gorgeous shades! I’m already eyeing Mirrored Mauve and Electric Shock…never mind the fact that I’ve promised hubby I’m not buying any new cosmetics for four months!

Honestly girls, this is a FAB gloss. Do get one and try it out.
