“It’s a lovely spring day and I’m strolling with hubby through the lovely Jardin des Tuileries. The pleasant breeze adds a natural flush to my cheeks that perfectly compliments my pinky-peach glossy lips. Pinky-peach thanks to Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in “Peach On The Beach”. This is just one of the scenarios that come to mind each time I hold this lip crayon in my hand and apply this gorgeous colour on my lips.
Last month, I had hauled quite a few things from Bourjois, the Color Boost Lip Crayon being one of them (you can read the haul post here) And since then, this cutie is the colour I wear most often and has found a permanent place in my handbag.
Notice the faded silver letters. Well, that’s the result of being packed tightly in my makeup pouch with loads of other things jostling for space. Wish I had taken pictures of it when the product was new 🙁 Then I could have shown you how pretty the silver lettering looked on the peach body.
Anyway, coming back to the product. After BB creams, all beauty brands were eager to jump onto the lip crayon band wagon à la Clinique Chubby Sticks. I had bought the Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain (review
here) and I really liked it. When I swatched the three colours that the Bourjois Color Boost comes in, it was love at first swatch with Peach On The Beach.
The Color Boost lip crayon is a twist up crayon, the body of which matches the colour inside. The cap is the same colour but the bottom of the crayon has the twist-up mechanism which is silver. These crayons look really cute and of course, are extremely portable. One of the main reasons I love lip crayons is coz of the ease of application. You don’t even need a mirror, you can swipe these on the go.
Peach On The Beach is a BEAUTIFUL, soft, feminine colour that leans more towards pink than peach on me. I had bought the colour coz I loved it but I was apprehensive whether it would look good on my pigmented lips and with my skin tone. I shouldn’t have worried coz it looks FAB!!!
The Color Boost is a very moisturising lip crayon that doesn’t make my lips feel dry. It has a glossy (not shiny glossy like a lip gloss, but soft glossy, more like a lip butter. Know what I mean?) finish that lasts around 3-4 hours after which the shine fades away leaving behind a lovely, even stain that lasts for another couple of hours. Less if you’re eating chaat or something that makes you lick your lips. It has a very mild, barely noticeable fragrance.
The upper lip swatch was taken in daylight and the lower one in yellow light, both without flash. I just need a couple of swipes to cover my pigmented lips and make them look pretty. I highly recommend this colour and if you think it might be a bit light for you, you can check out the other two colours, one of which is a gorgeous fuchsia.
Bourjois Color Boost is priced at Rs. 785 which is a bit on the higher side for a drugstore brand. But then, it is still less than the Lakme lip crayons!!!
What do you think of this colour? Have you tried Bourjois Color Boost? Oh, and don’t forget to enter my international giveaway here.
