December 2011, Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, while waiting for the flight to Singapore…
Me: Oh s***!
Hubby: What happened?
Me: (rummaging frantically through my handbag) s***, s***, s***!
Hubby: (panicking) WHAT HAPPENED???
Me: I forgot my Clinique compact at home 🙁
Hubby: (looking at me as though I’m an alien) So???
Me: So, babysit J and A, I’ll quickly buy a new one.
Off I go to get myself a new compact from Duty Free while hubby patiently sits and plays with J and A, our two sons 😀
Since I was using Clinique Superpowder Double Face Powder in Matte Honey, I decided to get that. That’s when I saw these special travel packs which had a lipstick along with the powder. I honestly don’t remember the price right now, but it was just a little bit more than just the powder. The only drawback was that the powder in this travel set was in the shade Matte Beige but it also came with a full size lipstick in a lovely colour! No-brainer isn’t it?
The Double Powder Face Powder is a wonderful, medium to full coverage powder that can also be used as a powder foundation. It is very finely milled and smooth and doesn’t give an cakey finish. I usually use this very lightly by itself over sunscreen (I don’t wear makeup daily). Though this shade is much lighter than my skin tone, it doesn’t look pasty or chalky on my face. Probably that’s because I use it lightly. It also helps in keeping my face shine free for about 4 hours!
I simply LOVE everything about Clinique’s Long Last Lipstick in Blushing Nude, from the chic silver striped packaging to the creamy formula to the satiny finish! The colour is not a very pale nude but a slightly darker nude with pink undertones without any frost / shimmer / glitter.
The texture is creamy and smooth and one swipe gives enough colour to cover the pigmented lips. It isn’t very long lasting though, lasts about 4 hours, but I don’t mind that as it is so creamy and doesn’t dry out my lips. It is a perfect colour for work as it gives a chic, polished look.
Have you tried the Superpowder Double Face Powder? Or the Long Last Lipstick?
