Korres Fig Shower Gel Review: One Of The Best Shower Gels Ever! (UPDATE)

“And we danced all night to the best song ever.
We knew every line. Now I can’t remember
How it goes. But I know that I won’t forget her
‘Cause we danced all night to the best song ever.
I think it went oh, oh, oh.
I think it went yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think it goes ohhhhh.”
This song is stuck in my mind ever since I accompanied my elder son’s class on their field trip last week. The whole class is apparently in love with this song because they must have sung it at least 20 times in the bus on the way to the Science Center and back. And sonny boy also keeps singing it at home!
Anyway, the reason why I am talking about Best Song Ever is because I have found one of the best shower gels ever! It has no Mineral Oil, no Petrolatum, no Silicones, no Parabens, no Propylene Glycol, no Ethanolamines, no PEG, no ALES, no Synthetic Dye, no Pthalates, no Polycyclic Musks, no Alcohol, no Retinol, no Animal By-products, no Animal Testing! Isn’t that awesome? I’m talking about a shower gel from the Greek brand Korres.

Korres Fig Shower Gel Review

Korres Fig Shower Gel - cruelty free, vegan
After having used, and loved, the Korres Raspberry Liquid Lipstick (click name for review) I was of course very eager to try out more products from this wonderful brand. So when Revathy from Healthnbeauty had a blog sale and I saw a brand new bottle of Korres Fig Shower Gel in it, I immeditely bought it.
Soft moisturising showergel, ideal for everyday use. Wheat proteins form a protective film on the skin, maintaining its regular hydration level.
This shower gel comes in a 250ml recyclable plastic bottle with a white flip-top cap. The cap shuts really tight too and there is no product leakage even if you take it along with you on your travels.

The shower gel has a runny, gel texture with a pale yellowish tinge. Though it doesn’t contain SLS, it lathers pretty well and cleanses the skin without drying it out. Because it is winter and my skin is really dry, I need to apply a body butter over it. In summer however, I think I won’t need to use any lotion after this. Also, because it lathers so well, just a little quantity is needed so this 250ml bottle should last me for around 2 months.
Korres claims that it smells of freshly cut figs and you know what? They’re right! It does have that exact fruity-leafy smell that figs have. Not everyone might like this fragrance, some might find it too leafy (my kids don’t like it), but I find it quite refreshing.
Here are the ingredients in this lovely shower gel:
Aqua/ Water/ Eau, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Parfum (Fragrance), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Arginine, Benzyl Alcohol, Castoryl Maleate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Helichrysum Arenarium Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Wheat Gluten, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Lactic Acid, Linalool, Phenoxyethanol, Polyquaternium-7, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sodium Gluconate, Tocopherol.

The price of this Shower Gel is 10.30 though of course, I got it for Rs. 650 in the blog sale. The Korres website has some yummy fragrances in their shower gels that I would love to try out (Jasmine, Vanilla Cinnamon, Mint Tea, Basil Lemon) so I need to check if they deliver worldwide. Korres bath product aren’t available on strawberrynet unfortunately.

UPDATE: urbanshore.in is the official retailer of Korres (among other brands) in India. They do have some Korres shower gels on their site (not this fig one though) priced at Rs. 1200.

Have any of you tried Korres Shower Gels? Do you agree that they are among the best shower gels ever???

Anyway, here’s the song from One Direction that has got my son and his whole class hooked. Enjoy 🙂
