One of The Body Shop’s most popular ranges is the Tea Tree Oil range which is formulated with organic Tea Tree oil specially sourced from Kenya. The newest addition to this range is the Flawless BB Cream which comes in three shades to suit Indian skin tones. These days, I have been using BB creams pretty regularly so of course, I was eager to try out this one as well.
What The Body Shop Says
Perfect the complexion and fight the look of blemishes with our Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream. This dual action cream gives you flawless coverage while tracking the appearance of blemishes. Formulated with purifying Community Fair Trade organic Tea Tree Oil from Kenya. Blemishes and imperfections are instantly covered. Lightweight formula gives shine-free complexion. Three shades blend seamlessly into all skintones for natural-looking coverage.
Packaging
I love the packaging of this BB Cream. 40ml of this product has been crammed into a small tube that fits into the palm of the hand. It has a flip-top cap that shuts securely so there is no danger of product spillage. You can also control the amount of product that you squeeze out so there is no wastage either.
Texture
The one thing that I dislike about most BB creams is the thick, gloopy texture that is quite difficult to blend. I thought that this BB cream would also have the same texture, but I’m glad I was wrong. True to it’s claims, the formula is truly lightweight and blends really easily. The TBS Tea Tree BB Cream has the same tea tree “smell” as the rest of the of the products in this range. There are three shades in this range, I got the shade 02 which is perfect for medium skintones.
Please excuse the dark shadowy image. |
Coverage-wise, however, this BB cream is sheerer than most others I have tried. I would say it is comparable to a tinted moisturiser rather than a BB cream. For daily use this is really good because it looks very natural.
The Tea Tree BB cream gives a dewy finish rather than a matte look. After a couple of hours, my face does look shiny, especially since it’s terribly hot in Bombay these days. However, a light layer of powder over the BB cream gives a matte look and controls the oil for around 4 hours. The best part about this BB cream is of course, the Tea Tree Oil in it which helps in curing existing acne as well as preventing new ones.

The Body Shop Tea Tree BB Cream is priced at ₹ 1095 for 40ml.
I really like this BB cream especially since it gives such a natural finish. It blends in beautifully and doesn’t leave any white cast behind. Since you need just a small quantity, this 40 ml tube would surely last for 2-3 months. And girls with acne-prone skin can definitely use this since the Tea Tree oil will help with clearing the breakouts.
