Memebox Superbox #78 Dirty Gal – Unboxing, Contents and Review

Since Memebox is stopping deliveries to India, I thought it would be nice to dedicate the last post of the year to the subscription box service that made 2014 the “Year Of Skin Transformation” for me. My anniversary box has still not reached me but here’s the unboxing of the Superbox #78, Dirty Gal.This box was a last minute purchase after they released the spoiler with the blue “Smurf” face mask. Also, the fact that this was one of the last remaining “Golden Ticket” boxes and since the only Golden Ticket box I had bought was the Green Foods, I thought I’d try my luck with this one as well. Let’s see how this box fared…

“Think dirty. Play dirty. Cake fights, sticky syrup, muddy tracks, grease stains and more, these are some icky-sticky situations you wouldn’t want on your skin and body…or do you? Say bye-bye to Miss Clean Freak and unleash your inner dirty girl with this box – bursting with so-called “dirty” but oh-so-fun beauty ingredients! Join in on this hot mess because it’s all about dirty fun, fun, fun in this box!”
Oh-so-fun beauty ingredients! Hmmm, we shall see……

This box had 5 (yes, just five again) full-sized products:
* Dr. MJ Real Mucin Restore Cream 50g ($46)
* B&SOAP Mamie Blue 130g ($29)
* Esthetic House Mayo Pack 120ml ($12)
* Pure Smile Muddy Girl 15g x 2 ($2)
* Cleomee Natural Donkey Oil 80ml ($83)
And now, I’ll tell you why this box disappointed me….
Dr. MJ Real Mucin Restore Cream
This intensive cream is formulated with rich snail mucin. I have used the Swanicoco snail peeling gel and really love it. This cream is supposed to have a really sticky texture and claims to help natural cell regeneration to decrease the appearance of wrinkles. It also claims to replenish the moisture and maximise elasticity and firmness. I’m so tempted to open this cream and start using it but I still have loads of creams to start with first.

B&Soap Mamie Blue in Memebox Superbox #78 Dirty Gal
This was the main reason why I bought this box. I couldn’t resist the idea of applying a blue “Smurfy” mask and fooling around with the boys. This claims to literally “vaccum” up all impurities and is infused with invigorating peppermint, soothing evening primrose oil and more!
This mask, however, is an absolute PAIN to apply! It is so thick and dry that it becomes really difficult to spread on the face. I scooped some out into my palm with a spatula, added a couple of drops of water and only then was I able to apply it. You also need loads of water to rinse it all off! And at the end of it, I couldn’t make out much of a difference anyway. Yes, my face looked clean but nothing else.

What can I say? It has egg yolk extract in it. I’m a vegetarian. Not going to use it. Will put it up for sale.

 These are $1 each, single use mask packs randomly chosen from Mud, Pearl and Kaolin. Memebox couldn’t put in all three? They’re just a dollar each! I got Mud and Pearl (I think). They should, hopefully be good. Shall try them out soon.

Cleomee Natural Donkey Oil in Memebox Superbox #78 Dirty Gal
Sigh! How I wish this confusion would get cleared. There is no proper information on how Donkey Oil is made. Is it made from the fat of the animal or is it made “with centrifugation technique from the donkey milk” like how we make ghee from cow/buffalo milk? If any of you have any information about this, please do let me know in the comments below. I have asked Memebox about this and they said they would ask their Korean ingredients department to find out about it. Since it’s the festive season, they will take time so I’m going to keep this sealed till I find out whether I can use it or if I’ll have to put it for sale.

After a fabulous Thanksgiving box filled with 8 goodies, this box is disappointing with it’s 5 products! One of the products I can’t use, another, I might not be able to use, a third that is pretty OK….The snail mucin cream (that I haven’t tried yet) and the Muddy Girl packs seem to be the only decent products in this box. And the Golden Ticket turned out to be yet another $3 off code with the exact same code as the ticket in the Green Foods Box!!!
Anyway, time is running out. Memebox won’t deliver to India after the 15th of January 2015 so hurry to get your orders in. Here are the codes:
