Of all the L’Oreal Paris Cannes Collections till date, I confess that I like the 2016 collection the most. Perhaps because it is an entirely “Infallible” collection with some seriously impressive products and a fabulous shade range. The L’Oreal Infallible Foundation is one of my absolute favourite ones and one that gives high end brands tough competition (read my review here) and the Infallible lipsticks combine great texture, pigmentation and staying power (read full review here). The Silkissime liners (reviewed here) bowled me over right from the first swipe. And, not to be left behind, the Mega Gloss lipglosses are proving to be pretty fabulous too! Read on to know more….
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss Review and Swatches
About the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss (₹850)
“Zero compromise gloss. Mega shine all day.
Treat your pout to the bold lipgloss shade it deserves. The Mega Gloss formula is a highly tinted shade with mirror-like shine and no stickyness. The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid and shine colour pigments, leaving lips hydrated with a high level of shine. The efficiently designed lip-hugging applicator fits lip contours for a perfectly glossy pout.”
The L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss comes packaged in non-fussy transparent lipgloss tubes with a black cap. Because you can see the shade of the gloss, you don’t have to hunt around for a particular shade if you have more than one gloss. The Mega Gloss comes in three finishes, (though I believe internationally there are five finishes) – Cream (C), Xtreme Resist (X) and Dazzle (D). The Cream finish, as the name suggests, gives a milky-creme finish, the Dazzle finish is loaded with micro shimmer for a sparkly, shimmery effect. The Xtreme Resist is a confusing one though – one of the shades I have in it has a faint luminosity while the other one is shimmery pretty much like the Dazzle shades. For sake of convinience, I have clubbed the 2 Xtreme Resist ones with the 2 Dazzle ones in the pictures.
What is even more fun is that each of the finishes also has a different fragrance with the Creams having a chocolatey, desserty fragrance, the Dazzles smelling citrusy and the Xtreme Resist ones having a floral fragrance. Thankfully the fragrance is very mild and doesn’t linger at all. These glosses don’t have an overly cloying synthetic aroma that some other lipsticks and glosses do.
These glosses feel very comfortable and non-sticky on the lips and they do make the lips feel hydrated as well. Even after wearing them for almost the entire day, even after the shine has worn off and just the stain remains, the lips don’t feel dry. Not all shades leave behind stains though – just the more pigmented ones.
103 Protest Queen is a very pale milky beige.
104 Mafia Gloss is a very pretty mid-tone warm coral pink.
106 Alerte Rouge is a pure blood red.
107 Who’s The Boss is a deep brown-toned purple.
210 Disco Ball (Dazzle) is a shimmery sandy-beige with gold microshimmer.
504 My Sky Is The Limit (Xtreme Resist) is a translucent, luminous pink that isn’t very pigmented but has a jelly-like texture.
503 All Night Long (Xtreme Resist) is coral with pink, orange and gold microshimmer.
208 Flash Dance (Dazzle) is a beautiful plummy burgundy with gold and purple microshimmer.
In all the shimmery lipsticks, the shimmer is very fine and doesn’t feel gritty or look chunky and garish.
And here are all the swatches…
And here is a picture of me wearing 504 My Sky is the Limit layered over a thin layer of Infallible Rouge Rambling Rose…

I didn’t try this new range yet. I wish we had 3 for 2 offers here for drugstore makeup. 850 INR is too much for a single piece
