Oriflame recently re-launched it’s premium range of makeup, the Oriflame Giordani Gold range – and held a post-launch party exclusively for us bloggers. You would have seen snippets of the party in my Instagram stories as well as on Snapchat. The collection includes CC Cream, eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks and bronzing pearls all of which have a luxurious, elegant packaging. While I haven’t used all the products as yet, I did wear some of them all day today. So this post is about my first impressions of the Oriflame Giordani Gold Makeup Collection as well as swatches and an FOTD.
About Oriflame Giordani Gold
“Giordani Gold is a luxurious range inspired by the refined elegance and sophistication of the Italian lifestyle. For the confident and the sophisticated, Giordani Gold combines the highest quality with warm elegance for an exclusive indulgence.”
Let’s take a look at the products….
Oriflame Giordani Gold CC Cream
₹999 for 40ml
“All-in-one makeup/skincare solution with a unique combination of lightweight texture and lasting medium coverage makeup. With patented Anti-Aging Brightening Technology to improve skin clarity and luminosity. SPF 35. UVA/UVB filters.”
The Oriflame Giordani Gold CC Cream comes in two shade variants, Light and Natural with the latter being the darker shade. I got the Natural one which seemed to be the perfect shade for me when I squeezed it out from the but when applied, seemed a bit light. It would have been nice to have a shade for skintones deeper than NC42.
It gives light coverage which is fine for daily wear, especially if I powder it since it makes my skin appear naturally even toned and gives a dewy finish.
Oriflame Giordani Gold Bronzing Pearls
₹1399 for 25g.
If I remember correctly, Oriflame was the first to launch a bronzer in India with the bronzing pearls. It was quite a unique and innovative product at the time and the pearls came in a gold compact. Now they are packaged in a glossy black jar with a screw-on lid with a gold band around it. The pearls also come with a sponge and, to be honest, I had my doubts about it but when I swatched the products and even applied the bronzer with the sponge, I realised it was quite good.
“Multi-coloured powdered pearls that give the skin a sun-kissed glow, a slight shimmer and a touch of healthy colour. The spun, hand-shaped beads are enriched with a mineral complex for a soft caresse of comfort.”
There are three variants in the Bronzing Pearls – Natural Radiance, Natural Peach and Dark Bronze – of which I have the first and the last. They do give a beautiful wash of colour with a soft sheen. As you can see in the swatches, the shimmers don’t show up much when applied on the face.
Oriflame Giordani Gold Eye Shadow Quad
₹1199 for 5.2g
“Luxuriously high colour pay-off, long-wearing eye shadow quartets in a sleek mirrored compact characterise the allure of Giordani Gold. Their opulent silky texture adheres to skin for crease-resistant colour that’s easy to apply and blend.”
As the name suggests, this palette has shades of grey (four, not fifty) for creating the perfect smokey eye. As you can see in the swatches below, except for the matte dark grey, the other three shades are quite shimmery and a bit low on pigmentation though they are quite smooth.
I don’t have the Divine Brown quad but I do have the Radiant Plum – and it is beautiful!
The shades are all smooth and creamy and have good pigmentation, except for the pretty purple-plum shade. That isn’t very pigmented which is really sad because not only is it a lovely colour, it also has a lovely satin finish with a sheen.
I have been wearing the two non-shimmery shades from the palette all day today and love how they look on my eyes. These shades are perfect for autumn /winter.
Oriflame Giordani Gold Iconic Lipstick SPF 15
₹799 for 4g.
“Indulge lips in rich, creamy colour with this luxurious satin-finish lipstick. Infused with restorative Argan Oil for lasting comfort and superior pigments for colour intensity. With SPF 15 to protect lips against premature aging caused by the sun.”
True to claims, these lipsticks are indeed rich and creamy and very smooth to apply. I found the packaging and the texture very similar to the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick though of course, the latter has a heavier tube. If you read my blog, you would know that I love creamy, satin/glossy finish lipsticks and prefer them to matte ones. I wore Muted Plum today and loved the soft mauve colour which is perfect for day wear. The lipstick stayed on me for about 4 hours and lasted through two coffees though it didn’t last through the sandwich.
FOTD with the Oriflame Giordani Gold makeup
Here, I am wearing the CC Cream (which is a bit light for me), the two non-shimmery shades from the Radiant Plum eyeshadow quad, the Bronzing pearls in Natural Radiance and Iconic Lipstick in Muted Plum.
