Cushion foundations are a huge boon for busy, on-the-go, girls like me since they are super convenient and fuss-free. A BB Cushion, just like a cushion foundation, has BB Cream soaked into the sponge instead of a foundation. I loved the Maybelline Fit Me foundation (reviewed here) and I also love cushion foundations so of course, I was very eager to try out the Maybelline Super BB Cushion….
About the Maybelline Super BB Cushion
Price : ₹1,200 / 14g. Available here.
“The Super BB Cushion is our 1st advanced BB Cushion: high coverage and yet still moisturising! For the first time, our soft cushion contains correcting minerals and moisturising essence. Now flawless skin is just a tap-tap away!”
The Maybelline Super BB Cushion is available in just two shades – 02 Light and 03 Natural, both of which I have unboxed on camera. This video shows my first impressions on the Maybelline Super BB Cushion.
After I shot this video and cleansed my face, I did apply shade 03 Natural in a very light layer all over my face to test it further. Because it has good pigmentation, even a light layer does unify the skintone. Initially, the shade does appear very light but within half an hour, it oxidises a bit and does match my skintone. However, it also gives a slightly whitish / greyish cast to my skin – the kind you get when you wear a cool-toned foundation that’s a couple of shades lighter or a sunscreen that gives a grey cast.
On the plus side, I really like the matte silver-pink case and the fact that the Maybelline Super BB Cushion has SPF 29 PA+++ . The texture of the BB Cushion is also lovely – feels more like a foundation than a BB cream – and hydrating, it doesn’t stick to any dry patches on my skin and settles relatively quickly. I also like that it gives a radiant finish rather than a matte one. The coverage is also really good and this BB cushion covers minor imperfections as well as blends easily making it great for everyday wear – if the shade matches.
There are, however, two things that I dislike about the Maybelline Super BB Cushion – the price and the shade range. The price of ₹1200 for 14g is certainly pretty high for Maybelline which is a drugstore brand. Especially when compared to the amazing Fit Me Foundation which is super affordable at ₹525 / 30ml!
In the video, I do mention that there are other shades available internationally – that was my mistake. The Super BB Cushion is available in two shades only; it is the Dream Cushion that has a larger shade range and not this one.
Those were my views on the Maybelline Super BB Cushion. I am, of course, going to play around with these a bit – will squeeze out the BB from the cushion and mix in a bit of the Fit Me to make these match my skintone.
What are your thoughts on the Maybelline Super BB Cushion? And cushion foundations in general. Let me know.
