Sigma Dry’N Shape Spa Review

Sigma Dry'N Shape Spa review

Now that the festive season is over, it’s a time to detox and cleanse – not just our bodies and skin, but also our over-worked makeup brushes! Washing makeup brushes has always been a chore I have disliked, though with the Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Glove, the task did become quicker and easier. However, the washed brushes have to be left to dry and that is again where things get annoying. Who wants brushes lined up on all the available space on the dresser for an entire day while they dry? Well, Sigma Beauty comes to the rescue once again with yet another innovative gadget – the Sigma Dry’N Shape Spa.

The compact design and universal fit make it ideal for travel and holds up to 18 brushes at one time.Exclusive and patent-pending, SigmaSnap™ securely holds each brush handle in place. Design

The Sigma Dry’N Shape Spa is one “tower” that consists of three detachable units. The bottom part has elastic bands that hold the brush bristles in the right shape and and help them dry faster.

The pink middle section is the actual “core” of this gadget used for washing the brushes. It has all the textures that the Sigma Spa Express Glove has that makes washing the brushes a breeze. There is a different texture for washing face brushes, a different one for washing eye brushes and textures for rinsing and refining.

The top-most section with pink silicone tentacle-like things (those are the Sigma Snap) is the section that holds the handles of the brushes as they dry.

These “SigmaSnap” silicone bands hold the brush handles securely so that the brushes stay vertical and don’t fall down. And as we all know, keeping the brushes vertical with the bristles facing down is the best way to dry them. The inner ones are for eye and lip brushes or even concealer – basically brushes with thin handles – while the ones on the outer rim are for bigger brushes with thicker handles.  The inner rim doesn’t have corresponding elastic bands however and the brushes will simply drip dry.

Usage

Using the Sigma Dry’N Shape Spa is very easy and convinient. All you have to do is detach the base and the top parts and use the core to wash the brushes. As with the Sigma Spa Express Glove, the textured surface helps in removing the makeup from the bristles and getting them totally clean.

Once the brushes are washed, you dry the core and re-attach the other two parts to it. Then, you insert the handle of the brush through the appropriately sized elastic band and push it all the way up such that the handle snaps into the SigmaSnap while the bristles are securely encased within the band.

My Views

The Sigma Dry’N Shape Spa can hold upto 18 brushes in a compact, space-saving tower thus keeping your dresser neat and clutter-free while they dry. I love how convinient and portable it is not just for your dresser, even for when you might be travelling on a long trip. You can simply detach each of the parts and carry them in your luggage and snap them on when needed. The elastics also do help in reducing the drying time so that again is a boon when travelling.

Priced at $29 (approximately ₹2000) it might seem to be an unnecessary expense but truly it is a  very useful gadget to clean all the expensive makeup brushes that we use and dry them without clutter. And also re-shape the bristles properly. It is available on the Sigma Beauty website. While international shipping could be a bummer, you could sign up for their mailers because they do have free international shipping without any minimum order from time to time.

If you don’t already have any gadget to clean your makeup brushes, I would recommend you check this out.
